So, I took the Littles in to the doctor for their annual check-up last week.

I’m not a huge fan of “check-ups”, and since we don’t vaccinate, there’s really not much cause.

But we adore our pediatrician, so I’ve been taking them in each April for a combined once-over (between his March and her May birthdays).

Jewel is “a square” – 44 x 44. 44″ tall is in the 75th percentile for her age, and 44 lbs. is the 75th percentile in weight, too.

R.T. is also in the 75th percentile for his height, but jumps up to the 90th percentile for weight (as anyone looking at the two of them might guess).

But what I was surprised by is that they are both “only” in the 75th percentile for height.

I don’t know of any children in their age group, or even a full year older, who are taller than they are… When we should be seeing 2-3 out of every 10.

People never believe me when I tell them how old they are, either. Part of that is verbal, of course, but “they’re so BIG”…

I’m not sure those chart people have checked with reality lately.
