I have another guest post over at the Mommy News and Views blog, Jewel’s Breastfeeding Journey.
It’s a look at the ups and downs of our 3+ years of nursing, including the obstacles, tandem nursing, and natural weaning.
Hope you’ll stop by over there and take a look!

I thank you for writing this article! I bf my 1st for 1 year (pressure to stop started at 6 months). The second I did for a year, when I became pg. The ob told me it was ok to nurse and talked about tandem nursing. I lost my milk pretty quickly, and #2 didn’t care. It did start painful contractions around month 3 or 4, so I stopped (amidst much crying on both of our parts) bf. #3 bf for just over 2 years. I thought I’d done plenty of research and did the right thing, but started questioning myself just last night (my kiddos are now 16, 9, 8). I was sewing with a bunch of moms and one brought up a mom who was nursing and the baby was 2. They were disgusted, especially when the realization came that mom was pg and “dry nursing.” I shared my story and how hard it was for me and my little one to stop. They didn’t say much after that, however I sensed their disapproval. It annoys me that people think God’s way of feeding babies and children is weird. Thanks for sending a positive message!
