Jewel Painting
One of the first projects we wanted to get done in the house was to paint Jewel’s room, so she would feel at home there. Naturally, she chose purple.
Papa christened her (nose) with the room color…
She thinks it’s lovely!
Then Jewel got to take the ceremonial first swipes (Papa had already done the priming).
Then Papa and Nick got in on the action.
I don’t think Jewel took the whole thing quite as seriously as Papa did.
And the result?
BEFORE the room was painted a drab green color, and the trim was… well, it was painted a fairly decent “toffee” color (which is in fact the color the whole living room was painted, and we’ve decided to touchup there rather than repaint right now) - but it was painted over a fairly bright yellow, leaving an ugly result. There was also A LOT of damage from careless handling, dog chewing, and who knows what. (I know the colors won’t come up right for everyone, but I think you’ll get the idea).
This is after the wall was primed, and wood putty was applied to the window sill - but oh, the trim color!
AFTER the room is Princess Jewel’s Purple, with a really pretty color trim called Oriental Silk, which we will be using for all the trim in the house.
