This Girl’s Got STYLE!
I was recently challenged to write a post about one of my kids’ unquie style. Of course, Pretty Princess Jewel sprang immediately to mind – and in fact I recently blogged about her adorable Princess-ness, here.
She’s a little lady however she’s dressed, even if it’s her cool camo skirt and sneakers, or a Renaissance Fair costume…

…But her true nature shines through most clearly when she’s really dressing up.

I usually have trouble finding things in her size that are long enough for our standards of modesty, and I spend a lot of time taking in waists of skirts in silly sizes like 14 (she’s a 5, maybe 6). This is, obvously, a big motivation for my learning to sew.
So I was really excited to see that the summer collection at The Children’s Place (my longtime favorite pajama store!) features a bunch of pretty skirts that are “below the knee” fit! YAY!

I check this website regularly because I’m interested in the family travels and the progress of the children. It’s been great fun watching Jewel and her baby brother, RT, as they grow up. Because they, and their older brother, Nick, are the children of parents of above average height, their Mom has been challenged for find age appropriate clothing for them, especially Jewel, at reasonable cost. She also occasionally writes about her “Adventures in Sewing” especially for Jewel. I had the opposite problem with my girls. They were usually under-size for their ages so I had “Adventures in Sewing” dressing my short kids. Occasionally I can even send Tiffany a hint I pciked up along the way, so it feels like a reciprical relationship.

She’s such a doll. Thanks for the info too, we dress modestly as well. The worst is when you have to alter Catholic School uniforms because the aren’t below the knee.
