Unfortunately $85 billion divided by 200 million is only $425.00. While that would still help, I’m sure that’s not quite the emphasis the article was hoping for.

Meanwhile, in other news, math skills are apparently at an all time low here in the United States. It’s not just the bankers and brokers on Wall Street that can’t manage the figures - it’s everyone who keeps passing on this bogus article. This is about the 10th place I’ve seen it, and I even got a version in my e-mail.

Sorry, I just feel compelled to correct ignorance.

On another note, you’ve got a great blog here. Came looking for information about living on the road. Thanks for sharing!

If a concentration in English counts for anything…you were asked to punctuate, not to revise. You correctly punctuated the wording as it appeared. The teacher revised — her response required a redaction of the wording and grammatical structure.

For hers to work, she had to change “visited” to “visit” for hers to make sense. If the directions are to only change punctuation and capitalization, it wouldn’t have occurred to me to make changes to the grammar as well to make my punctuation fit.

If grammar is open to change, as well, then I guess both work. It goes to show you what a tough time bible translators had since they didn’t have punctuation or capitalization to help them, either.

They say if it sounds too good to be true that it must be so. I don’t know enough to know if there is some big flaw to this suggestion - it surely sounds sensible!
